Age: 20
Gender: Female
Location: Marquette

Supernatural Affinity
Type:

Werewolf - Born Human

Powers:

The ability to shape-shift into a werewolf

Appearance:

Standing at an average height of 5'5", Megan is a rather unassuming albeit pretty young woman. Megan has fair skin with a smattering of freckles over her nose and cheeks that give her a more youthful appearance. She has large, sage green eyes that darken when overcome by anger or fear. Her slight build is not immediately obvious by the lean muscle and powerful grace she has from being a wolf. Her auburn hair is usually worn tied back or free and falls a little ways past her shoulders.

Megan doesn’t dress too flashy, in comfortable clothing that can be shed easily if she needs to shift. She also doesn't particularly like shoes but when she must wear them (no shoes, no shirt, and no service after all), she wears flip flops when the weather is nice or converse shoes when it isn't.

Personality:

Megan’s gone through a lot of twists and turns in the past. She’s still quiet, still not as trusting as the average joe but she’s come a long way in trusting those that she has and working to be a more open person. She still has that ‘are you making a joke or are you serious’ tone on her, and it’s just part of her natural dry humor. Megan has a couple ticks, and a habit of cocking her head when she’s curious about something.

She enjoys her privacy, finding refuge in several places around the town. The woods surrounding Marquette are her favorite place to go. Although she was born human, she finds comfort and relief in changing into her complete wolf form and running as fast as she can. Rain, snow, any kind of weather, and most likely she can be found there. Megan also finds refuge in any of the libraries around town, devouring books of all kinds. She has been a faithful customer of Alexandra, seeking further information about the supernatural.

History:

Megan was born in a small werewolf community near the Ohio/West Virginia border (Off I-77 by Wolf Run State Park and Belle Valley). They were, for the most part an isolated group, consisting of Megan's immediate family, the families of two uncles, and a smattering of second and third cousins, bringing the group to around twenty.

The family owned a small trucker bar off of I-77 with an accompanying motel for truckers headed to Cleveland. Megan, her twin sister Emily, older brother David, and four cousins were homeschooled, the pack protective of the next generation after encountering problems in the past in their old homestead in West Virginia. They should've known that they would not be left alone for long.

Megan was twelve when it all started to happen. Johnny showed up. Megan's cousin had voluntarily left the pack with three others after a fight with the Alpha before the pack moved to Ohio. He was alone, saying that the other three had been killed and he had nowhere else to go.
Mauled, half-eaten bodies of hikers and campers started turning up. Not all at once, mind you, but often enough that the United States Park Service was on high alert and more game hunters turned up in the area to find the potentially "rabid wolf" that was stalking the Belle Valley area. In the pack, all suspicions turned to Johnny, but at this point it was too late.

The pack had taken care of him but already they started to come. The special hunters. The ones who believed in their causes. The ones who thought that these "dirty hybrids" shouldn't have a right to live. They hit hard. They hit fast. In one night, the pack was all but completely eradicated, the bar burned to the ground. Megan managed to get out with her aunt Becca, but Becca had been hit with silver and was fading fast. Becca said they had to get to Marquette, that there was family there that would take them in. A good place. A safe place.

They got as far as Toledo in a stolen car before Becca died from the poison, and that left Megan to get to the Upper Peninsula on her own. Lucky for her, Megan was not a normal twelve year old and she spent the next six days fully transformed, making her way just out of sight of the interstate, barely stopping, too afraid that those hunters were still coming after her. She spent another week or so hiding in the woods outside of Marquette, frightened and scared.

She was found passed out from exhaustion not far outside of Marquette by members of the wolf commune up there. She spent the next week sick with fever, the letter found attached to her arm explaining what had happened in Ohio. It was very difficult, starting out. Megan reacted aggressively, violently, to anyone who was not werewolf, despite the fact that they tried to help her. It was because of this that Megan was kept in one of the more isolated cabins to be treated and was slowly "re-introduced" to humans.

It's been seven years since her arrival in Marquette and has been a long road of recovery for Megan. Even before things went to hell, Megan did not attend the city schools. It was just too difficult. Too many humans in one closed space. Boundaries not observed… you know how it is. It could be worse though. She could be in the big city.

The years past. Megan was largely isolated, not leaving the werewolf community often until she was older and started venturing out. It was made easier with the establishment of the commune and since then she’s made various friends in town.

After some serious therapy, she’s found her footing so to speak. She’s not one hundred percent perfectly adjusted, that sort of thing comes with time, but she’s a much better person to have as a friend than she used to be. She's also moved out on her own and is living above the Alexandra bookstore where she is now employed.

Special abilities and skills:

Megan has a surprisingly easy time with her transformations, slipping into the full form of the wolf quite easily. As human, her senses are sharper than normal, most likely from the excessive amount of time she spends as an animal.

Megan also is familiar with gun handling and how to use one. Enough that she doesn’t have to solely depend on her half-wolf form to defend herself.

Weaknesses:

Fierce Loyalty - “It’s clearly a trap” doesn’t exactly enter Megan’s mind all the time. What matters is that someone she cares about is in trouble and she needs to help them.

Self-Doubt - It isn’t vocal but Megan can be a bit gun shy. She’s nervous she still hasn’t broken her old habits, that she still comes off weird and uncaring and an all around mess. Like people know she’s been in therapy, that she’s not all fixed, things like that.

Self-Sacrificing - Megan has this feeling that she really owes the people around her for putting up with her. It’s not particularly founded on anything but words in the past have really stung her and she feels that she needs to prove that she is a good friend and a good person and will be that one who’ll take the bullet or step in front of that train, or trade themselves in the deal.

Werewolf - Even if people tend to be tolerant in her circles, Megan is still a werewolf with a capital W. For every nice, huggy joe, there’s a dozen that wouldn’t mind her head on a wall if it means one less ‘mindless animal’ on the street. She’s got to be careful what she says in public and not to arouse too much suspicion because it’s not just her in Marquette. There’s the commune too.

Emotionally Fragile - There’s still a naivete to Megan that hasn’t quite gone away. Her skin is tough in some places, but others, not so much. The loss of someone close could be a devastating blow to Megan, one that could set her back years of healing. It’s one of those things that will ease with time but for now, she’s still fragile.

Mucked Up Instincts - It's been becoming increasingly clear that despite the time she spends as a wolf, despite living in a commune, Megan and her instincts have been at a disconnect. She seems to be getting in her own way, second guessing choices that should be automatic in the first place. There is a definite, deep seated fear in Megan that she is broken in general, but she has no idea how to overcome this.

Strengths:

Immune to Mental Effects – If you had a map of the world with everyone's consciousness a bright red dot, you wouldn't see Meg. She's 'off the grid' when it comes to mental searching. Supernatural persuasion doesn't work on her or telepathy. Her moods cannot be read psychically either.

Affinities – Tinkering - Erector sets, Mouse Trap™, model cars and trains and towns, Megan is an absolute pro. Not only can she make a multitude of cool things (like the expansive model train set in a corner of the basement complete with hills and little train stops), she’s able to figure out how things should go together without screwing up (so she really doesn’t NEED those directions). So she’s got some Macgyver tendencies. Not a bad thing to have in this day and age.

The Best Friend - Dependable, loyal, strong willed. Megan is as good as a friend like any golden retriever (although don’t say that to her). She’s someone you can depend on to come to your aid, whether you need saving, or a shoulder to lean on. She’ll keep your secrets as long as they aren’t dangerous and if they are, well, she’ll figure out a way to help you without betraying your trust.

Support System - Megan has a group of people that have been very tolerant and very caring while she’s struggled with things and have stuck by her through thick and thin. They’re people who would be there in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to her.

Other Information:

Entire family killed in southern Ohio by unidentifiable hunters. While Megan did not see all of them slaughtered, she saw her two parents hit with silver tipped arrows and her sister and brother killed by throwing knives before her aunt dragged her out (she was unmated, her mother's sister).
