Name: Harlow Schulze
Age: 66, appears 30
Gender: Female
Location: Marquette

Supernatural Affinity
Type:

Demon

Powers:

Ability to see karma and to scope out fallen angels and fellow ascended demons.

Appearance:

If one word had to sum up Harlow, it would be intimidating. She's tall, standing at about 5'9'', with a thin frame and dark, piercing eyes. She wears her hair short, sometimes spiked up, sometimes combed into a perfectly kept sweep along her neck. Long hair gets in the way and generally makes her feel less empowered.

Her wing marks still remain, despite the fact that her wings are gone. The marking itself is medium in size, enough to be seen and appreciated but not enough to be overwhelming. She's come to know that the actual mark (the tattoo, as humans call them) is inspired by something called 'Steampunk'. The wings are silver and connected directly to a a gear-switch mechanism in the middle of her shoulder blades, in line with her neck. She thinks it's ironic that her mark consisted of wings with feathers, even metallic feathers, when she had a much more bat-like, skin-like, smooth style to her original wings.

She has two retained demonic tells, the most obvious of which is that her shadows point the wrong way. Her second, less obvious, is internal. Harlow generally runs a normal temperature of at least 100 °F, but recently she's been clocking in around 102 °F.

Personality:

Harlow is a planner. She enjoys thinking out the details of her next conquest. She is meticulous about her conquests, a perfectionist in nice terms. She doesn't find humor in much. Her parents have rarely seen her smile. The only times she comes anywhere near to looking happy is when one of her conquests goes off successfully. Harlow has a temper and a mean one at that. She dislikes it when people question what she says, specifically because she probably did the research to back up her claim previously.

Currently, Harlow's personality is changing. She feels less like herself and more like someone she doesn't know. Although she is finally adapting to being an ex-demon, she's in for a long, hard journey of actually accepting it and learning to be not Harlow the demon, but just Harlow.

History:

The first born of two avid Ravagers, Harlow spent most of her time as a child honing the skills that would lead her straight back to the House of Ravage. Her parents had always hoped that she would choose to be a Ravager, but allowed her the freedom to explore her skills until she was old enough to make the decision on her own.

Being a Ravager simply made sense to Harlow. She was always experimenting with new ways to make weapons. New types of bullets, new ways to twist the blade on a knife to make it interesting and lethal. She even had a small soirée into wiring bombs, but that didn't last long. The one thing that kept her attention was murder. Cold blooded, mass-scaled murder. And for much of her adult life as a demon, she was content to simply help that massive scale of murder along until one day, she saw him.

His name was Joseph Miller. Harlow first saw him on his wedding day. She was standing across the street from a church (as close as she ever got to churches) in Stuttgart, Germany, and he was exiting down the stairs with his new wife. Whom she hated. Instantly. She didn't realize it at the time, but Harlow's need to destroy Joseph's happy marriage stemmed from a deeper rooted feeling than her need for destruction. She was in love.

And it was that love that send her spiraling upwards, quite literally. All she'd ever known was her demon life, so when she was left standing outside that church with her wings stripped of her along with the rest of her powers, she was obviously left in shock about the whole thing. Of course she hadn't realized that it was love that made her ascend even though she technically knew it was the only thing that could. It took her most of the night and next day to even understand the concept that she loved him. When she did, she whipped up a plan to destroy Joseph Miller's wife and gain her chance with the man that had made her Ascend. She thought it was only fitting that if she had to be stuck here, then she might as well be stuck here with him.

Her plan was fairly simple. All she needed was a gun and a few bullets. Joseph's wife went down easily. Too easily. Harlow followed the ambulance to the hospital where his wife was officially pronounced dead due to three bullet-wounds to the back of her head. Harlow thought that, all in all, this had been a pretty successful conquest. Until Harlow was dealt a second crushing blow the next day as she read the newspaper's headline: Newlywed wife murdered, Husband committed suicide.

'Well, great,' Harlow thought. She'd been made to give up the life she'd led so happily before she saw Joseph for a man who hadn't even known she'd existed. Because of this, Harlow does her utmost not to find interested in anyone. She doesn't trust love or people in love because it only leads to her ending up in pain.

Harlow ended up in Marquette after a series of odd, failed attempts to regain her demon status. She's been there for longer than she likes to admit, but has yet to find a way out of the town. Within the last four years that she's been settled at Marquette, Harlow has made a name for herself as a mechanic at the local garage. She doesn't particularly enjoy going to a garage every day to work. She finds it mundane and boring compared to mass-murder, but it's better than nothing.

Special abilities and skills:

-Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Harlow is fluent in German. She spent most of her life there before ending up unceremoniously in Marquette. She would rather talk in her native language than English, but will speak English if she has to.

-Hand to hand combat
Harlow knows her way around a gun and a knife. She's not too fond of other ways of fighting, but she will hit, punch, kick, scratch, and bite if she has to (or maybe if you're just pissing her off).

Weaknesses:

-Anger
Harlow has a chip on her shoulder and she's not likely to get rid of it anytime soon. Her default emotion is annoyance. She believes that most people are generally stupid and lazy, and is rightfully pissed that she is doomed to spending the rest of her life with humans, the second most annoying on her list (angels, of course, being the first).

-Loneliness
She misses her parents dearly, but they won't speak to her now that she's Ascended. It's probably for the best that they don't see her because they'd more than likely kill her on the spot for her betrayal. She doesn't believe that many people have the ability to impress her, but she unconsciously searches for someone who does. Or at least someone who intrigues her in a world that is more dreary and boring than anything else.

-Boredom
It's been four years since she Ascended and still there is nothing for her to do. She doesn't have the same influence she had before. She's even forgotten which wire would go to what section of a bomb. Her skills outside of manslaughter don't include much, but she's found a job at the mechanical garage in Marquette. She frequents bars more often than not and has picked up some rudimentary knowledge of billiards and card games.

Strengths:

Harlow is the one you'd want on a deserted island with you. She's already thought out Plan B and Plan C, just in case A doesn't work. She will use anything and everything in her inventory of tricks to succeed at what she needs to be doing, which currently means staying alive.
