How to Apply!

RPG Dreams Accounts

First up, we realise that the set up of this website is probably completely different to what you've encountered before and there are some important things to note!

First and foremost you only need one account! That's right - no having to create multiple accounts for multiple characters and spending endless hours logging in and out depending on who you're posting as! At RPG Dreams you only need the one account - your player account.

How does this work, we here you say? Okay, it's easy! You apply for an account as a player. Choose whatever account name you want (it doesn't have to have anything to do with the character you're applying for - choose something that you as a player can relate to). Great, you're now a member of RPG Dreams!

You will be able to fill in your profile immediately, with your contact details etc as a player, but you'll not be able to do anything further until you have applied for a character and been accepted to the game!

Applying for a Character

Applying for a character couldn't be simpler. Okay, it could be - but we're not prepared to scrap the application process! Anyway - in the dropdown list at the top of the page, select 'create content'. Go to this page and one of the options is 'create character'. Simply click on this and it will take you to the application form. Fill this in and press 'save' and it will automatically be submitted to the mods for their consideration.

Once the mods have considered the application, you will receive an email either accepting the character, or asking for edits. Sometimes a character is rejected out of hand, but this is a very rare occurrence. Normally the mods will explain what is wrong with an unsatisfactory application and work with you to get your character to an acceptable standard for the game. If a character is rejected out of hand, this is usually because it will not fit in the game setting.

If you are applying for your first character, you will also need to submit writing samples. These must also be approved by the mods. Subsequent characters do not need writing samples.

Note: you will not be able to upload pics for your character until that character is approved.

Adoptable Characters: If you are daunted by the application process, you can pick up one of our skeleton characters. The current available adoptable characters are listed on the Character Page. To adopt a character, all you need to do is contact us with two writing samples - a first person journal entry and a third person scene - and a PB for the character. Any changes you wish to make to the character should also be discussed with the mods. But that's it - quick, simple and easy.

After acceptance

After your character has been accepted to the game, you're good to go straight from the approval mail. Your application will automatically become the character profile and you will be able to post from your account in the name of your character. You will also have access to the OOC.

You will also need to set up your own user profile page with contact details etc. if you haven't already done this. The details that you add into this page will be automatically transferred to the player contact list (and is only viewable to players in the game), so make sure that this is filled in properly! This is accessible through the 'My Account' link. This page will also give you access to your character(s) profile page(s).

If you wish to apply for another character, simply do so in the same way as the first (minus the writing samples). There is no need to make multiple accounts.
